A Tale of Two Cities

Here is a record of my wanderings around London and Paris, just in case you wanted to know what I was up to on the other side of the Atlantic . . .

Not I, said the little green pig . . .

Ack! only 13 minutes again! An hour of internet does not last long enough! I've had another great day today, this time not being anti-social.

Today we had our first quiz, over the English monarchs 1066-1399. (Quick, who can name them? It's easy-- William, william, Henry, Stephen, Henry, Richard, John, Henry, Edward, Edward, Edward, Richard!) Then we set off on a tour of the history of English Law. Kambra, our teacher here, is a Political Science, professor, so that's what we're focusing on. We heard a short lecture, then headed down towards the river to tour the Temple area, where the Inns of Court and the Courts of Justice are. It would take too long to explain what all those are, so you can just "look it up."

Then we went over to St Bride's church (designed by Wren), whose steeple, approprately, was the model for the modern tiered wedding cake! Find a picture of it-- you can see the resemblance.

Then I went along with some classmates-- some of my favorites-- to two pubs, where I had my first fish-and-chips and had sips of their pints. It was fun.

This evening, I went back to the National Gallery-- still didn't finish!

Now only 3 minutes! No time to say goodbye, I'm late!

"I am for...for Bath." :)
"And how do you like Bath?" "Bath...well, I have yet to see it." "Oh yes, of course."
"Though I came only yesterday,
I have equipped myself properly for Bath already, you see."

Oh Ellen, how fun? And did you take an umbrella? :)
